Ashes from the volcano Puyehue – on the ground and in the air.
Prefrontal winds transported more fresh stuff (much less and much finer particles than two months ago) from the plume and stirred up the powdery top layer of the ashes lying on the ground – yes: all that grey ‘sand’ is deposit from the plume!
